Kandadevi
Temple
The
Village Kandadevi is situated 3 Km away from Devakottai Town.
Here the Temple is called as Arulmigu Sowarna Moortheeswarar alias
Siragilinather. The Amman is called as PeriyaNayaki Amman. This
is a 350 years old Temple. The Temple is maintained by Sivaganga
Devasthanam, which is one among 84 Temples. The Temple is owned
by the legal heirs of Sivagangai
Raja.
It is here that Hanuman said "Kanden
Deviyai" to
Rama, hence this place is called as Kandadevi. The Aanni Urchavam
is very famous festival for this temple, which is celebrated in
every year, during the month of June by the people of 75 Villages
Thirukostiyur Temple
Thirukostiyur is one among the most famous 108
Vaishnava temples in Pandia Kingdom. The Alwar Ramanujar has visited
and prayed God Sri Vishnu. The God name is "Swamiya Narayana Perumal".
The God is in five floors. This is famous South Thiruppathi. During
every year, Masi Magam Teppam is celebrated here. Swami Narayanan’s
gigantic statue appears in lying position with five snakehoods.
Grand festival will be celebrated during the period of “Vaigunda
Eygathesi” by opening door of this allayam called “Sorga
Vasal”.
Pattamangalam
Pattamangalam in Sivaganga District is famous for Lord Thaksanamoorthy
temple which is situated near Pillayarpatti. It gives completely
a different view of Lord Thaksanamoorthy whose statue is placed
under the root of vast Banyan tree, which has hundreds of aerial
roots. The speciality in this temple is that the circumference
of the tree will be about 50-60 meters. Meantime, it takes 10-15
minutes to go around this Banyan tree.
Kalaiyar

It is in Sivagangai district, 18 km east of Sivaganga and 46 km
west of Karaikudi. ‘Kalaiyar’ is a corruption of word
Kaleeswaran. This temple is very large, looks fine and majestic
with small and big Raja Gopuram, which has been built during the
18th century. Miraculous aspect in this temple is one who stands
at tower of Rajagopuram, can be able to view Madurai Meenakshi
Amman Kovil towers at west and Thondi sea at east. This Gopuram
is nearly 155.5 feet tall and 93 feet breadth.
